The if/then/else structure is a statement on its own. I would like to update from a table to another.but my problem is that i don't know how to get only a part of string. But you can't use the if(condition, expr1, expr2) function,. Never mind, just figured it out. So i have read a few posts on here but i cant seem to get this working on mysql. You can request it as a task on jira.
Mariadb hasn't implemented this option. After failing to use it in my application, i wanted to try with a simple example: I tried a lot of ways to use user defined variables in mariadb version 10.3.22. Pretty much i have a «count» of records with an itemid that i want to update into my items.
It's good for creating a super user but not good if you want to grant privileges on a single database. This is old question but the accepted answer is unsafe. Given the move away from putting passwords on process arguments what is the use case.
