I used to prefer [name_f]katie [/name_f], but i’ve been crushing on [name_f]katy [/name_f] lately. I was born in the 00s and i grew up with a handful of other katie’s. It feels modern and fresh to me, while [name]catherine [/name] feels more elegant and ladylike and more like the royalty spelling.
I kind of like it because it’s simple & cute, but i’m not sure that i myself would want a “simple” name. It is less common and really cute. While i adore the name, it sounds too plain with my other top names (emma, emily, anna) in a combo. At least, that’s how it.
